Summary

Call of Juarez The Cartel is the third in the popular Wild West series from Techland and Ubisoft, and this one really twists the genre into Mexico and into the present day. At heart it is a shooter very much in the mould of Grand Theft Auto.

The game centres on a drug cartel that has bombed a U.S. law enforcement agency with devastating and horrible results for both the building and hundreds of people. As the the attack was a surprise to U.S. government intelligence it can only be assumed that the cartel has infiltrated several federal agencies. A special task force is formed that must hunt down and stop the drug cartel.

In the force are ex-gang-banger Kim Evans, now in the FBI; Eddie Guerra, a DEA agent and gambler and the brutal LAPD detective Ben McCall.

The unit must travel from Los Angeles, California, through Arizona and New Mexico to Juarez in Mexico itself. As well as the single-player campaign, the trio present the gamer and two pals with the opportunity for three player online co-op.

In single-player mode, however, the gamer can choose to play any of the three characters and therefore to experience that character’s own unique story and ending.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel has 15 missions and maps with over 30 guns and weapons in a variety of game situations including punitive raids, witness protection, tough interrogations and undercover missions.
