Summary

Namco Bandai's Tales series, admired by many, is coming to the PSP in an all-new game developed specifically for the PSP, complete with 3D graphics, a massive character customisation system and furious real-time battles.

The ancient and suitably lovely land of Terresia is under attack by a nasty demonic fella from another world going by the name of the Devourer (a giveaway name if ever we saw one). Unfortunately, that's causing the World Tree – the creator and protector of Terresia – to waste away. Using its waning strength, the tree calls into being the world's last hope. That, in case you hadn't guessed, would be you.

You'll get to build your character from scratch, customising your name, face, clothing and even gender. Once you've got that all sorted, you'll pick your class (there's Warrior, Thief, Priest and Mage to name a few) and get on your way.

As you'd expect from a Tales game, characters from previous games will crop up across the 300 quests, including Luke and Tear from Tales of the Abyss and 17 others. You'll use the series' patent Free Run Linear Motion Battle to unleash devastating attacks and combos in real time, and even trade weapons and armour over an ad-hoc wireless mode to toughen you up.
