Summary

It's been a year since the last conflict was won, but the Battle Network is still up and running. It's time once again to slip into the shoes of Megaman.EXE for another round on Game Boy Advance.

Playing in a virtual world far into the future, you must hack into the bustling Internet to fight net crime, taking computer chips and other collectibles along the way. You can, to a degree, explore Megaman's digital world without the need for conflict, but battles are inevitable in the Network. You will be ambushed frequently by myriad viruses that manifest themselves in the form of gruesome monsters. Using any new-found skills and items you may find as you progress, you must quickly defeat your enemies through strategic combat. Most enemies have their weaknesses, so exploit them as best you can.

Tournament-style gameplay is also a welcome option in Battle Network 2. Progressing through a process of elimination, you will strive to become the number one fighter in the network. Be warned through, this is a tough challenge.

The game world itself is near identical to its predecessor, but looks great nonetheless. The isometric 3D battle arenas move fluidly and the animation and graphical wizardry is nothing short of amazing considering the game's home is a mere portable.

Battle Network 2 remains fundamentally the same as the original Battle Network. Only the story and locations have been altered, which is a good thing. Hopefully this entertaining monster of a game will get the attention is deserves.
