Summary
There is no arguing that Matchbox is a household name, but it is originally known for its die-cast model cars. The company is set to change all that with a plethora of video game releases, one of which is Matchbox Emergency Patrol for PC.
Set in the fantasy land of Matchbox County, you have been called in by the Mayor to assist in keeping your hometown a safe place to live. You must fight crime and capture criminals as well as fight fire as a fireman and save the lives of your fellow citizens. The more missions you manage to execute successfully, the higher your rank will be, as you prove yourself to your town. The game comprises of 40 unique missions that are generally divided into police, ambulance and fire fighter missions. Players are able to patrol the city in the respective vehicles, each with their own handling mechanics and attributes.
Matchbox Emergency Patrol has been developed in full 3D, and while the visuals may look very simple, the environments are meticulously designed, and feature hidden shortcuts that will aid the players in their missions. But discovering the secrets of the game is very much a case of trial and error.
Matchbox Emergency Patrol remains faithful to its old school counterparts in every way possible. A fine game for fans of the legendary franchise.
