Martin Linky Linkater
DOB: 3.5.71
Role: Director/Programmer
Game History: Started programming on a ZX81 when I was 10. Moved through the Commodore range (VIC20, C64, C128, AMIGA) doing demos and other programming stuff as a hobby. Finished school, got my Maths, Physics and Art A-Levels and ended up doing a BSc in Computer Science. Started work for Psygnosis a week after finishing my last exam. Spent 5+ years at Psyggy, working up to the meteoric heights of Liverpool Programming Manager. Like the others I found the whole managerial thing agonisingly dull and unrewarding and realised that programming is my true passion - hence Curly Monsters.
As far as games go, I've been playing games since I was 10 (17 years) and I still spend far too much time and money on them - what can I say - it's an obsession.
Favourite Game:
Of all time - Elite.
Recent Gems - Goldeneye, Pilotwings, Wave Race, Gran Turismo, Half Life, Thief, Carmageddon 2, Tekken.
Currently Playing - Linux
Quote of the moment: The only problem with the gene pool is there's no lifeguard.
Pet peeve: People who are in this industry because it is a 'sound career move' and have no passion for games.
