Summary

Killing Floor began life as a niche zombie kill-fest but quickly picked up a bit of a cult following with its sequel. Numerous updates and an alternate universe virtual reality version later we have a comprehensive package of all the Killing Floor content from the last few years for the PS4.

Killing Floor 2 itself is very focused on co-op play. Up to six players can get together in idiosyncratic teams to hunt 'zeds' (no-one can ever just call them 'zombies' any more...). Fancy using katanas to decapitate the undead as a priest? Sure. Want to be a bloke who's convinced he's a medieval knight? No problem. Presumably the end goal is to save the world, but your character is more than likely just in it for the cash. You, however, will be treated to wave upon wave of the undead flooding labyrinthine stages, numerous different strategies at your disposal for taking them out and a lot (like, really, a LOT) of blood. There are various different classes (called perks) to play as and plenty of weapons to keep each one interesting.

Likewise, the zeds will change things up with moves like spitting poison or protecting their heads from killing blows as they charge you.

Every now and then you'll switch in to Massive Evisceration And Trauma system (aka, yes, MEAT) - the game's slow motion dismemberment system that gives you 20 different points at which to remove an appendage from a walking (or running) corpse.

Killing Floor: Incursion, meanwhile, strips back the core formula a little to make it accessible as a narrative-driven single-player game or two-player co-op. What you get in return, of course, is the immersion of virtual reality. If you think all that persistent blood is intense in Killing Floor 2, just wait until it's painting the scenery in VR.

Plus, you get all the seasonal content that Tripwire has been releasing. All in all, that's a lot of zeds to murder and a lot of different ways to do it!
