Summary

Remember the bits of Call of Duty where you breach an entranceway and the entire world slows down while you do your level best to make a mess of your enemies? RICO is, effectively, a hymn to how much fun those sections are, offering up some fast and furious gunplay in exaltation.

You play as a loose cannon detective with just 24 hours to crack the case of a lifetime. As a member of the RICO taskforce your job is to bust in on criminal gangs, take as many of them down as possible and then get out of there with as few bullets inside you as possible. The upshot of that is effectively an 80s action movie in the form of a videogame.

Beyond the mechanics of breaching followed by slow motion gunplay, RICO hangs its hat on a couple of cool features. One is the option to play through any and all aspects of the game in couch co-op with a pal, giving you the chance to share all those beautiful headshots with a friend. The other is procedurally-generated levels that mean that no two missions will ever be the same.

If that doesn't offer enough frenzied shooting possibilities, how about the option to play a mission at random, or an endless horde mode to spice things up? In short, RICO offers plentiful ways to get your adrenaline fix!
