Summary

Excellent boutique indie developer, the studio behind greats such as Mega Man 9 and 10 as well as Blaster Master Zero and Bloodstained, is back with a brand new passion project.

Dragon Marked for Death is a frantic 2D side-scrolling action RPG with a big focus on co-op play. You can either play with a pal in couch co-op or with three other players online.

It pays to play well with others, too. There are four different classes that complement each other in battle - the Empress is a nicely balanced class that deals out a lot of damage; the Warrior is a tank that can protect his party well with his ability to soak up damage; the Shinobi is another class focused on dealing damage but with a focus on movement and fiddly attacks and the Witch can heal allies and blast foes from a distance with spells.

Put it all together and you've got a fast moving game that wears its mechanics on its sleeve with a flurry of those all important numbers to show damage everytime you land a blow. It creates a powerful incentive to improve your character by buying new gear and equipping the spoils of battle.

It's all presented in glorious, over the top pixel art that will have fans of 8- and 16-bit game design salivating.
