Summary
NBA LIVE 14 has been written from the ground-up to be played on next-gen systems, bringing with it officially licensed teams and stadia from the official National Basketball League in America.
The new title comes with the signature play you’d expect, but uses a new physics-based dribbling system. It also has brand new AI opponents that use the specially written CourtQ advance analytics for dynamic player and team ratings and tendency updates.
These new builds join the bounceTek dribble physics which are fresh to the next-gen consoles. A system called Synergy Sports brings constantly evolving LIVE Season Challenges.
But the old is not thrown out to make way for the all-new as fan-favorite Ultimate Team comes back to enable the player to feel all the thrills of building up an amazing team of classic NBA talent.
Along with these features are online Head-to-Head Seasons that pit the gamer against tougher and tougher opponents in a bid not to fall into the lower leagues. Levels are grouped under four tiers – Rookie, Pro, All-Star and Superstar – which serve as benchmarks for matchmaking. Those in the Rookie tier can expect to face opponents levels 1-3, Pro goes from levels 4-6, All-Star houses levels 7-9, and Superstar is the exclusive club where only the level 10 players play.
And of course, there is Live Season during which gamers can find BIG Moments and NBA Rewind, each of which offers its own take on traditional basketball games.
BIG Moments consists of short challenges meant to help gamers relive their gaming performances. BIG Moments can be team-based or player-locked.
This is joined by HoopsNet XP which can be gained from doing nearly anything in-game from playing Rising Star games to completing BIG Moments - gaining XP unlocks LIVE Ultimate Team rewards.
