Summary

Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer returns for the 2013/14 season with PES 2013 and an endorsement from Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo. PES 2013 brings improved in-game audio, graphics and AI to the much loved football title.

Other enhancements to the game reflect the straightforward, easy to get into positional play for beginners while also adding challenges for the seasoned PES gamer. Also added are three key elements of innovation.

These are: PES FullControl, Player ID, and ProActive AI.

PES FullControl (PES FC) means that the player gets greater ball control while in attack or defence. It comes with a system called “Dynamic First Touch” which introduces subtle ways to receive the ball, from traps, gently lifting it past an attacker to run on to or a variety of other moves.

That down to earth, skillful approach of old is reframed by Full Manual Shooting and Full Manual Passing in PES 2013. This does exactly what it says on the tin, enabling more advanced players to use completely manual control free of any assistance.

The Player ID addition lets the gamer get to grips with the very best players (such as Ronaldo himself) with newly rendered likenesses as well as their signature attributes, skills and tricks, running style, turns, and ball control, not to mention the fact that their signature goal celebration will be noticeably different during play to other players.

This even applies to goal keeping, with goalies using new animations and play styles. To add realism , new saves and reactions have been added and keeper AI has been improved (along with the addition of manual ball distribution).

The ProActive AI means that AI players will not simply react to real life gamers, enabling a greater level of competition with speed and balance resulting in a more realistic game experience in single-player games, as well as in the variety of local and online multi-player games available.

Classic game modes such as Master League – both online and offline – remain in the game, as does Become a Legend mode for the individualist who want to take one player from nowhere to their first team and beyond.

Also included is the “myPES” application that can be used to connect like-minded PES players on Facebook.
