Summary

FIFA Street returns with panache and the kind of rapid soccer that can't be achieved with bigger sports titles. It comes from the creators of the “full” EA SPORTS FIFA franchise, but is set away from large stadia and massive crowds.

The game requires tight and accurate control but brings fun as well as urban environments and authentic branded gear. It also has a big and modern music tracklist.

Like EA Sports' other soccer titles, Street makes use of the FIFA gameplay engine, but also introduces the “Street Ball Control” system to enable the player to experience street dribbling styles and trick moves in one-on-one battles.

Street enables the player to attempt to achieve close-controlled “panna” after “pann”as they would in the Netherlands, as well as playing physical possession football that way the game is played in the UK.

The game brings playable environment as diverse as parking lots all the way up to professional 5v5 Futsal-style tournaments in some spectacular cities in more than 35 locations around the world.

Street uses a variety of playing styles including “Street Dribble” which builds on FIFA 12’s Precision Dribbling, enabling players in position to face opponents at any moment and to use close dribble touches in tight spaces even while fending off opponents.

In fact, more than 50 new skill moves have been added to the new FIFA Street. Also included are over 100 different styles, tricks & celebrations. 225 additional items can also be unlocked including team kits, street wear, boots, environments and teams.

Online gamers can play in the World Tour, a connected, social game mode that lets the gamer recreate themselves in-game as well as building their own team players to compete against others in tournaments and challenges. These let the player progress from local tournaments to the Street Football World Championship.

Using their own team creations gamers can compete online in 5v5, 6v6 or futsal matches in ranked online play with seasons, promotions, and relegation over 10 games per season in promotion races and relegation battles.

There are, in fact, some 16 different tournaments to compete in and 20 street challenges. Completing these successfully enables players to include real-world street footballers, or stars real-world clubs in their teams.

As well as tournaments, gamers can play with or against 1-4 players with varying game rules including Panna Rules (score by kicking the ball through your opponent’s legs), Entertainment Points (win by entertaining the crowds), and Last Man Standing (score and lose a man).

There is also plenty of opportunity to capture video of your best tricks and share it in-game with friends in your network. Plus, track and compare you and your friends progress in tournaments, challenges and Online Seasons through Friends Leaderboards, and follow each other’s status in EA SPORTS Football Club.
