Summary

Harvest Moon remains one of the most popular simulation games to hit Nintendo platforms, and its easy to see why. Who doesn’t dream of running their own tranquil life on a farm, with nowt but the harvesting of crops and the looking after of cows to worry about? It’s a great form of escapism - with The Tale of Two Towns, Natsume and Rising Star are promising a fresh new adventure.

It centres on neighbouring villages, Konohana and Bluebell. They used to get along so well, bless them, but now they’re pretty much enemies! The heart of the dispute? Guess. Yep, it’s food. Cooking, no less. It all started when the two towns got into a debate over which one contained the best cooks in the world. Both thinking they are better than each other, there is now a bitter rivalry in place of friendship.

You, as always, play as a new farmer who has just arrived in town. This time around, you get to choose which village you get to settle in to - each has their own advantages and way of life. The Eastern-styled Konohana has a huge wealth of fields to take advantage of for crops, while the European-styled Bluebell is known throughout the land for its animals.

Pick a home, build a farm and compete in festivals - progress through the story and try to bring these warring towns together again!
