Other times you fancy yourself as a bit of a Ronnie O’Sullivan, taking on big names in the world championships. Whatever your reason for daydreaming of smacking balls into holes, WSC Real 11 is the game you need. It’s a continuation of the annual sports series that aims to simulate the way of the cue stick as accurately as possible.

The most delicious addition to the gameplay comes in the form of the Replay mode. When you take your shot, you can engage this option and watch the action unfold over and over again. You can do this to see how you hit the cue ball and how best to play from now on. Of course, in addition to this you can also choose to rewind time to a previous point in the match, undoing any catastrophic moves you’ve made.

Alongside this, the physics have been vastly improved, with collision detection focusing on the exact curvature of the balls rather than relying on a square hit box around the model. This means that you really can make that white ball shave past the black to hit that red, overcoming your opponent’s safety shot.

Add to this the new online tournament mode and plenty of other features relating to career and multiplayer features, and WSC Real 11 is looking like the most authentic Snooker experience to date. more
