Summary

Super Mario is undoubtedly the most iconic character in the video gaming world. If you asked someone about the medium, no doubt one of the first things they would think of is a little moustachioed plumber warping through green pipes and jumping on turtles. Now the plucky Italian has reached his 25th Anniversary, and to celebrate Nintendo is re-releasing its classic All-Stars compilation for the Wii.

Super Mario All-Stars was originally released for the SNES back in 1993, and included the first four adventures featuring the dungaree’d hero - Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2 (known as Super Mario Bros. USA in Japan), Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels. The latter was the first time the original Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 was made available to Western markets. Each game in the compilation featured recreated graphics and updated soundtracks, and it is this collection that makes the transition to Wii DVD.

This special edition box set also includes a booklet that chronicles Super Mario’s adventures from 1985 all the way to 2010’s Super Mario Galaxy 2. Finally, you’ll find a CD featuring choice music from many Super Mario games throughout the ages - and it all comes in a classy collector’s box. Happy birthday, Super Mario!
