Summary

If you think of board games, the first one that will come to mind is chess. Chess is perhaps the most classic game of skill ever created, and has been imagined in many different forms since its creation in the 15th century. Even in the computer games industry, chess has been very well represented - but Battle Vs Chess does things a bit differently by adding role-playing action sequences and a medieval theme.

Instead of black and white pieces on a chequered board, Battle Vs Chess sees grand armies of light and darkness face off against each other in an epic battle for domination and justice. Each piece is an animated character that brings added drama to the war on the battlefield, and close-up sequences highlight the amount of carnage that can happen when a Bishop takes a Pawn or when a Knight vaults over several pieces in a turn, launching an assault from the sky that rains pain on its opponent.

In addition to the unique presentation, Battle Vs Chess comes complete with an ‘Action Mode’ that merges classic logic with one-on-one beat ‘em up gameplay. It’s a meeting of minds that modernises the ancient board game and makes it appealing for old Chessmasters and fans of brawlers at the same time.
