Summary

Zombies have, let's face it, been done to death. (Yes, pun intended). They've popped up everywhere from film to comics to TV to period romance to, of course, games. With that in mind, if you don't have the words 'Resident' and 'Evil' in the title of your zombie game, you'd darn well better have a good idea. Fortunately for Tecmo Koei, it does.

Undead Knights takes zombies, throws them into a medieval fantasy setting, sprinkles them with a healthy seasoning of strategy and puzzle play, then serves them up exclusively on your PSP. You take on the role of one of three (yes, it's in the title) undead knights who has been wronged by the king, killed, then crawled their way back from the afterlife, turning up with the ability to raise the dead themselves, albeit in a rather un-dead form.

As you seek revenge, you storm a number of castles, leaving destruction and, of course, death in your wake. Where Undead Knights really wanders off into its own territory is in the ability to turn enemies into zombies, absorb them into your army then command them at your leisure. This means that, as well as cutting up enemies yourself, you can use your zombie minions to complete missions in creative ways. Throw your zombies! Use your zombies to make inhuman shields! Order them to make you a flesh bridge!

After you've made your way through the sea of rotting flesh that is the single-player campaign, there's a multiplayer mode in which you can compete with up to four friends, fighting each other, fighting bosses or racing to clear a string of areas first.
