Summary

Combining the talents of the Game Republic team, which brought Folklore to the world, with Mr Yoshiki Okamoto, who brought gamers both Street Fighter II and Resident Evil, indicates that Namco Bandai has put some serious time and resource behind adventure game Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom.

There is a battle to be fought – and it's a battle against the forces of darkness. Majin – the artificially intelligent hero/monster, is the player's companion in this mix of the stealth and action and adventure genres.

While both Majin and the gamer have their own individual destinies to pursue, they will also battle together as well as unravelling the mysterious that concern the dark enemy, the forsaken kingdom and Majin itself.

With more than thirty hours of gameplay promised, the gamer and Majin the monster must meet and interact with other characters within the kingdom if they are to complete the storyline and uncover the secrets therein.

This is more than a simple hack and slash title tied up in a narrative, as the player must overcome puzzles and challenges as well as immersing themselves in satisfying combat. The Majin is also key to the experience. While it's there to look after you, using it's size and strength to assist you with brute force, it's a two way relationship. You'll need to keep it on course, giving it instructions to keep it out of trouble. We dare you to try and not feel attached to the big guy after a few hours of play!
