Summary

Almost everyone has a relative that harbours an old piano in the basement or living room, and it’s among one of the most accessible instruments to learn to play if you’re ever curious about music. Hit a key, sound comes out. Put a couple of fingers down, you have a chord. Of course, carting about a huge piano can make learning on the go quite difficult.

This is where Easy Piano comes in. Using the portability of the Nintendo DS, this game comes packed with a unique 8-note full-octave keyboard peripheral that slots into the Game Boy Advance slot, so you can practice playing the piano wherever you are. Of course, if piano’s not your thing there’s also options to play a guitar or a number of alternative instruments.

Including 40 famous compositions, you see a rendition of yourself playing on the top screen while a timeline and rhythm meter helps you play the right notes in time with the beat. From Mozart to Beethoven you can learn the true classics, then if you feel a bit more modern hammer out Bohemian Rhapsody, Bittersweet Symphony, Every Breath You Take or even Jingle Bells.

When you’ve played the songs to your hearts content and learned them by heart, you can get creative and make your own piano masterpiece using the creation mode. Up to four 3-minute pieces can be saved, and with varying difficulty levels to help novices and advanced musicians create music, you’ll be entertaining friends with your music in no time at all.
