Summary

We'll be honest – we're bored of many of Disney's attempts to appeal to the tween crowd with its Miley Cyrus psuedo-dramas and Jonas Brothers' purity rings of hope. Give us some classic animated films, the kind that Walt Disney would be proud of. The Princess and the Frog is the first 2D animation in years, and it marks a return to form for the company. Who can argue with 1920s New Orleans jazz-infused remixes of old fairy tales, after all?

Just as well that the game is here to help complement and celebrate the occasion. The Nintendo DS version provides an exciting platform adventure, as you leap and swing your way across 27 levels as Tiana and Ray! All of the levels are set within the New Orleans and Bayou areas, crossing paths with scenes from the film.

Along the way, you can find side-quests that require you to find special items and ingredients – these will help you to create new recipes and cook New Orleans cuisine! The spirit of the 1920s period shines here too, as you get to participate in music-creating sessions that can be saved to the game's jukebox.

To expand your gaming experience, the game comes with Dgamer – an online community portal which allows you to create a 3D avatar, profile and chat with other Disney gamer friends. Share accessories found in the game, unlock exclusive content and earn honours for your achievements too.
