Summary

Getting out into the wild and seeing some of the wonders nature has to offer, courtesy of a safari, must surely be one of the greatest ways to spend a holiday on offer. Alas, not everyone can afford such luxuries these days. You might, however, be able to afford the next best thing. SEGA has your back with Jambo! Safari.

Following in the 4x4 tracks of the arcade game of the same name, Jambo! Safari aims to tempt you out into the wilds of Africa and see if you can tough it out as a ranger. The game is aimed squarely at the Wii's younger audience, which is immediately evident when you're asked to enter your age and choose from two difficulty levels – 'easy' for 3-9 year olds and 'hard' for age 10+. From there, you'll choose one of four rangers and you're off!

You'll need to complete a variety of challenges on the road to becoming a fully-qualified ranger. Expect high-speed rescue missions on the African plains as you shoot around in one of the customisable vehicles, but don't forget the slower-paced tasks that keep the animals in your park happy and healthy. You'll need to diagnose and treat sick animals, as well as getting stuck into more recreational tasks like wildlife photography, sight-seeing and hot air balloon rides.

The Wii version also offers co-operative play missions, as well as mini-games for up to four that include Meerkat Madness and Ostrich Racing.

Take a walk on the wild side!
