Summary

From the team that brought you Ferrari Challenge, Supercar Challenge expands its range into 40-plus cars. These include the Aston Martin DB9, the Ferrari FXX and the McLaren F1 . Yes, you get to blast these around Silverstone and Spa, the Nürburgring and even the made-up track down at the Riviera.

Unlike other racing games, SuperCar Challenge comes with several modes so that even the beginner can get started, learn the ropes, and make their way to the top. Of course, it also means that experienced players can drop a few gears and have some fun.

The modes are Assist, Arcade and Simulation. Assist, as its name suggests, enables you to explore the cars and track combinations and maximise the way that you handle both by helping you around corners, through gearing and more. Arcade... well, its simple, it's straightforward, it's all about fun. Forget reality, this is about the thrill or driving fast, braking hard and experiencing corners as you would in a really, really fun dream.

Then you reach Simulation, and you're going to have to have your wits around you. Where Ferrari Challenge was noted for its superb handling (once you'd got to know your tools) SuperCar Challenge builds on it. Play it without any assists, and complete it , and you'll know that you're up there with the best.

Add to this improved opponent AI and the ability to customise your vehicles out of nearly all recognition, and 'Thrill ride' about sums it up.
