Summary

There's something far more majestic about a king than a politician or a regular, run of the mill peasant. You know it's true, it's right there, contained in the word. Where a politician should have a silver tongue, a king should be strong and, at times, decadent. We'd all much rather be a king, wouldn't we? The problem is that (as Spiderman knows) with great power comes great responsibility.

Rising Star's Little King's Story starts with Corobo. He's not your typical regal sort – he's shy and reclusive, in fact. When he comes across a strange crown that grants him the ability to charm anyone he feels like, however, he finds himself with a lot of responsibility to take on board. He sets about turning his diminutive little hamlet into a noble kingdom of the fantastic variety.

The game combines role-playing, adventure and real time strategy elements. Players must manage their subjects to complete a variety of tasks, including the likes of digging for treasure, building new buildings and generally just making the kingdom a better place.

That all sounds pretty idyllic, doesn't it? Well, it's not. Because, like any other king, you'll be called upon to defend your kingdom from time to time. You'll be up against lunatics, too. One other king challenges you purely because you’re the king ‘Al-jerk-o’ (you're not, it's Alpolko). Another is a big boozer who just wants everyone to get drunk.

The whole thing is delivered with a delightful fairytale charm that's sure to charm the casual and the hardcore gamer alike.
