Summary

Bleach is back. It might have taken a while for Bleach: Dark Souls (or Bleach DS 2nd, depending on where you hail from) to make it over to Europe, but fans of manga/anime and beat 'em ups alike should feel rewarded by it making the trip.

For the uninitiated, Bleach is a manga-cum-anime about Ichigo Kurosaki, a 15 year-old who finds himself crossing paths with Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper. After an encounter with a 'Hollow', an evil spirit that's got to places it shouldn't be, Ichigo finds himself imbued with Rukia's powers and charged with defending humanity from hollows and guiding waylaid souls to the afterlife.

Dark Souls follows in the footsteps of its DS predecessor, throwing players into a deep, no holds barred beat 'em up experience. The sequel throws 17 new characters into the mix, bringing the total to an impressive 44. It also introduces 30 new power-up cards and power crystals with which to build up your Spirit Card deck - the set of abilities you'll need to get the edge over your opponents.

For fans of Bleach in its manga and anime form, there are a couple of treats. Firstly, there's an all-new storyline exclusive to the game for them to sink their teeth into. To give all the background on Bleach that you could possibly need, there's also an encyclopedia built in.

Rest assured, there's also a heavily customisable multi-player mode that enables users to go online against other players via WiFi!
