Summary

Battlestations: Pacific picks up where Battlestations: Midway left off and runs like hell. Playing as the US forces, players command and participate in some of the key battles of the Pacific campaign, lining up their troops to ensure victory for the Allies. Battlestations: Pacific adds something new to the mix, however. For the first time, players can command Japanese forces in a 'what if' campaign that assumes Japan actually won the Battle of Midway.

Players are able to control their land, sea and air units from afar, remotely plotting the course to victory. They're also able to jump right into the fray, climbing into the cockpit of a plane or taking up the role of captain of an individual ship.

It's a pretty massive affair, with a total of 28 full-scale battles. The US campaign includes Guadalcanal, Leyte, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and more, while the Japanese side of things enables gamers to start at Pearl Harbor, go to the Java Sea, Port Moresby, Midway, and beyond.

New to the series is island capture, in which players can storm individual islands to take them as strategic vantage points.

Multiplayer returns, with eight players able to engage in battles of up to 100 units. There are five new modes, including Island capture, Duel, Siege, Escort, and Competitive. Added to that is Skirmish mode, which enables players to team up against the AI to test their co-operative skills.

The fate of the Pacific is in your hands!
