Summary

Ghostbusters: The Video Game sees New York under attack from ghosts yet again, and there's only one organisation the city will call to sort out the mess: The Ghostbusters. The city is so overrun with spooks and spectres that the boys in grey need a new recruit, and that's where you come in.

Reuniting most of the original cast, including all four of the Ghostbusters, the game has a story written by original movie scriptwriters Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. Set just two years after the events of the movie Ghostbusters II, this is essentially the third story in the series.

Not only the human characters have returned, Gozer the Gozerian, Slimer, Vigo the Carpathian and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man will all be back to wreak havoc and make your job that bit more difficult.

The game is, give or take, a third-person shooter. Operating as an anonymous new member of the team, your job is to trek around, capturing ghouls. First you'll weaken them with your proton pack, then you'll go a bit rodeo and snag them with a capture stream, then it's into the trap. To keep things fresh, developers have also included mods on the traditional streams, such as shotgun-like blasts and stasis beams.

So, strap on your proton pack, pick up your PKE meter and prepare to bust some heads...in a spiritual sense, of course. The Ghostbusters are ready to believe you!
