Summary
Combat Mission: Shock Force brings a new depth to military strategy games and allows a player to choose just which side they want to control and be able to use all their units effectively.
The game is set in Syria after the country’s government has been violently taken over by a terrorist cell. In response, the US army has moved in to try and return control to the Syrian government.
You are given control of either the US army or the terrorist group and take part in a number of different combat situations in several different locations. Using the environment becomes very important in a variety of ways, allowing you to spring ambushes as well as shelter infantry from enemy fire.
Many scenarios require different tactics for you to implement in order to successfully complete your objectives, whether you are storming through a city in an attempt to rescue a stranded tank crew, or laying an ambush to destroy an incoming American Convoy, the way you position your troops and the time you strike are all important and could lead to military dominance or complete destruction.
Whether you choose to help take back the country or try and rid it of coalition forces, there is plenty of action along the way, and many ways in which you can try and destroy the enemy. Any fan of the genre should certainly be kept entertained.
