Summary

Join Pac-Man, his friends, and a host of other Namco characters in the fastest, most exciting kart-racing game around - Pac-Man Rally from Bandai Namco. There's more than a whiff of Mario Kart about this effort, published in the UK by EA Swiss sarl, but that's no bad thing, no sirree. The only real unfortunate thing is that the PS2 version can handle no more than two players at a time. Shame about that, but hey, let's concentrate on the good stuff, eh?

Pac-Man Rally features four game modes: Circuit Mode includes the Cherry, Grape, Watermelon, Classic and Rally Cups. Go for the gold to unlock new characters and tracks. Quick Race lets you race on any unlocked track with any unlocked character. Time Trials is where you race against yourself for the best time around any unlocked track. Once you have completed a race, you can retry the level against a 'ghost' version of that race. Finally, Battle Mode is vehicular combat with a completely new set of weapons. Karts have life bars and can use health and armour pick-ups strategically. Within Battle Mode, there is a selection of game types: Deathmatch is where you set the number of eliminations and battle until someone earns the victory; Free for All is where the player that eliminates the most opponents before the timer runs out is the winner; Last Kart Driving is self-explanatory; Binge is where you must collect the biggest amount of fruit in the arena; and Classic is where you must pick up as many Pac-Dots as you can. The battle is over once the last dot has been consumed.

Squarely aimed at the younger end of the PSP-owning market, Pac-Man Rally delivers the goods with a variety of tracks, characters and Pac-related goofery that even senior players can enjoy.
