Summary

Cubes get everywhere, don't they? Cups of tea, horse's mouths, Nintendo hardware platforms, the path of the Federation in Star Trek. Well, now they've made it onto your PSP as well.

The core concept is devastatingly simple: you take charge of a cube and have to navigate it across a bevy of surreal 3D worlds, with no less than 135 to keep you going. Simple, right? Wrong.

The worlds are lined with obstacles ranging from giant cubes to towering staircases to treacherous unconnected cube groups. You can navigate them by flipping your cube and sticking to any surface that isn't a special square, turning the camera as you go to transform a vertical surface.

If it was as simple as all that, however, it wouldn't be that much of a challenge, would it? Scattered around the levels are bombs, rotating blocks, quicksand for squares, squares that force you back... In shorts, all sorts of perilous square and cubic hazards.

All this will brighten your morning commute as the head-bending surreality of The Cube counters the unpleasantness of the tube. Or the train, or bus. Go on. It is, after all, hip to be square.
