International Cricket Captain 2006 includes a comprehensive and up-to-date database featuring statistics for every first class cricketer in the test playing nations, each with their very own unique strengths and weaknesses. BBC reporter Jonathan Agnew will add realism to the in-game commentary. There is also a new World Cup structure included for every four years, including West Indies 2007.

Gamers can either play or watch individual matches. There is the option to change tactics on an over-by-over basis, whilst selecting the highlight level for watching the action. For fans of the domestic game, the full English season is also included in the game, with the Twenty20 over cup, the County Championship, the National League and one day cups available.

In International Cricket Captain 2006, you can improve your squad by offering contracts to experienced, youth or overseas players. If you have a key player who is out of form or injured, you can book a session with the coach or physio. It is also possible to instruct your groundsman to prepare a surface tailor made for your attack. Playing conditions vary from fixture to fixture and change during individual matches.
