Summary

Always popular with the young ones, the Lego series of games handled by THQ are among the most played by their target audience. But they don't all entail building cheesy homes with building blocks. On the contrary, in Lego Knights' Kingdom there are role-playing, strategy and even puzzle-based elements at the player's disposal.

The basic premise of Knights' Kingdom sees players assuming the role of a Legoland hero as he ventures into the Citadel of Orlan to find the magical Shield of Ages and defeat his arch-nemesis, Dark Knight Vorlak, in a tournament that will decide the fate of Legoland forever.

Playing in a top-down environment not too dissimilar to Nintendo's Zelda games, you'll be charged with overcoming the fearsome Shadow Knights army by putting your sword and combat skills to the test in a series of epic battles. But wait, there's more...

Not only will you have to demonstrate your combat expertise, you'll have to complete a series of puzzles and mini-quests too. These games are a great distraction from the main adventure and help to offer plenty of variety.

Finally, those who find the single-player game that little bit too easy can go head-to-head with another in a competition to wrangle points from one another in Knight's Kingdom's vast arena. Top stuff.
