Summary

Normality is set in a polluted city called Neutropolis, in which all the residents are extremely dull and downtrodden. You take on the role of Kent, a young grunge-type kid who's just been released from jail and ordered to do nothing but watch TV. However, while in prison, Kent got wind of a band of like-minded people who wanted him to join them and so decides he must escape from his apartment, find them, and uncover the conspiracy that is keeping a hold on the city's inhabitants.

The game takes the unusual step of combining the familiar point-and-click interface with a first-person 3D perspective. As such, you use the cursor keys to move around and look up and down, whilst using the mouse in the usual way to access the game's command list - 'Use', 'Open', 'Talk', etc.

Throughout the adventure, a host of often bizarre puzzles stand between you and your ultimate goal, and several characters can be found along the way with which you can interact. One notable aspect in this area is the voice acting of the characters themselves, which is well implemented and, more importantly, features the voice of Goonies/Lost Boys star Corey Feldman in the leading role.

As the name may misleadingly suggest, this old-school adventure game is far from normal. Granted, there's the familiar point-and-click style interface and myriad puzzles to solve, tied together by an involving and often rather wacky storyline, but it's the puzzles themselves (as well as the actual solutions) that shy away from anything remotely 'normal' - resulting in quite a difficult, yet very entertaining adventure.
