Its been a year-long wait for fans of the god-sim strategy game Age of Mythology, but its expansion pack, The Titans, is finally ready, complete with the same high-res visuals, an extended storyline and a bundle of new features.
New to this expansion is an Atlantean mythology that adds to the story of the original release by offering new scenarios, new maps to explore and new in-game cinematics to further enhance the story. Players can now take advantage of unique cultural attributes and make use of god powers and mythical units to overthrow and dominate your opponents. If your race worships you, your powers will be unleashed, so treat them well.
The Titans visuals, while not improved, still look stunning - particularly through a high resolution monitor - and boasts an incredible level of detail that makes an isometric game world look as real and as three dimensional as it can be.
Essentially, the expansion is a more-of-the-same affair, but ultimately its what fans of the series and RTS purists want. Look after a civilisation, reap the rewards and crush your foes. A fine addition to Age of Mythology games, The Titans is unlikely to be the last well see of the god-sim series.
