Summary

Calling all budding football team managers, we reckon you should salute Sheffield's ZOO Digital. South Yorkshire's finest have gone and resurrected the semi-legendary (around these parts, anyhow) Premier Manager brand. Gremlin's much-admired footy management sim was last spotted in the late 1990's on PlayStation and PC, and now it's back. Fans of the original PM series will be delighted to know that it's different, but just the same!

The refreshing thing about Premier Manager is that it keeps things as simple as possible, so beginners can ease themselves into football management. Also, those veteran virtual managers who want a rest from the deeper-than-deep likes of Championship Manager will soon find themselves every bit as involved in the Premier Manager experience.

You can take control of any club from the four English divisions or top two divisions from across the continent's premier leagues. Premier Manager 03/04 allows the user to indulge in fantasy football across Spain, Italy, France and Germany, with all leagues playing out simultaneously. All the usual football management features are included: transfers, tactics, team management, squad rotation, finances and club development are all on your list of things to do.

For gamers of a certain age, it's really good to see Premier Manager back. As we intimated earlier, it'll be familiar to some; the aesthetics are pretty much how you may remember them, but new and improved for the noughties.
