Summary

Secret Weapons Over Normandy spans a period of four years of the second World War, and rather than go for the deep combat flight sim option, LucasArts has gone for more accessible gameplay. There are 30+ air-to-air and air-to-ground missions, as budding pilots engage in dogfights in the turbulent skies of 15 combat theatres including Europe, the Eastern Front, North Africa, China/Burma/India and the Pacific. Virtual pilots can take to the skies in 20+ authentically modelled fighters and bombers as they progress through the game.

Secret Weapons Over Normandy lets players relive the well known air conflicts of the era to help swing the balance of power back to the Allied Forces. The game follows a historically accurate timeline of key conflicts, beginning with the dramatic Evacuation of Dunkirk; the fierce Battle of Britain; Operation Sea Lion, Germany's daring planned invasion of England; the pivotal Battle of Midway; and the war's most brutal battle, the D-Day invasion.

Aviation fanatics can get their kicks in a selection of Allied, German and Japanese aircraft, including the twin-engine P-38 Lightning; the P-51 Mustang; the dangerously unstable Me163 Komet rocket plane; Me262 turbo jet fighter, the first-ever jet fighter in combat; and even be a gunner in the B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bomber. Secret Weapons Over Normandy's soundtrack features sounds derived from field recordings of the real-life aircraft, as well as convincing voice-overs from the pilots.
