Summary

It's widely recognised that Disney is the undisputed king of animated film production. Time and time again, the company has come up with an engrossing adventure that is popular with both children and adults. And for 2003, Disney has come up with a brand new animated story called Brother Bear, and as you might expect, a video equivalent has already been made for PC.

In this instance, Brother Bear tells the tale of native American hunter Kenai, who is magically transformed into a bear when he seeks vengeance against another bear for his brother’s death. As the adventure progresses, players will see how the hunter’s perceptions of life change as he becomes hunted himself.

It’s very Disney, and it works well, not just on the big screen, but as a video game too. Based closely on the events of the film, Brother Bear for PC is a typical 3D affair in which gamers assume control of a confused Kenai and his pal Koda before wandering the game’s many locales.

The player’s objectives are always made clear throughout the adventure, and there are a variety of collectibles up for grabs, giving young gamers an incentive to keep pushing forwards. The game also comes complete with a comical narrative to inject a sense of humour into what is actually quite a serious and meaningful adventure.

Brother Bear for PC is definitely one for the kids, and as a Christmas release, is a great stocking filler.
