Summary

Given the opportunity, could you handle life as a superhero? What about the responsibility of keeping things peaceful in Metropolis? Fending off all of those bad guys while holding down a day job at the city newspaper sounds like a whole bundle of stress to us. Well, this is your chance to slide into those tight tights, don the significant 'S' vest and let your cape billow in the wind. The battle against perennial bad guys Lex Luthor and Metallo is about to get under way.

As the Shadow of Apokolips story progresses and the story unfolds, Superman must tackle a variety of situations which come in the form of objectives. Sometimes there will be a number of objectives to deal with at once, and at other times completing one objective reveals another one. It's important to pay attention to the cut-scenes in Shadow of Apokolips, as they help you to identify those all-important clues to the mystery of Metropolis. At all times, Superman must ensure the safety of the innocent. Whether this means rescuing people from danger or removing the source of danger, this is his clear priority at all times.

Superman will encounter many opposing forces throughout the game. However, force is not always the best course of action in dealing with threatening issues. Superman's powers provide him with many options for dealing with disaster beyond brute force. Sometimes it's wise to stop and think about how you could possibly defuse the situation rather than rush headlong into a fight.

Superman can use all his powers that you've come to know through the comics, TV series and films. Want to see what's going on beyond that wall? XRay Vision is the key. Telescopic Vision, Heat Vision, Ice Breath - they're all here, and all lovingly-detailed. The animation throughout is wonderful, the cut-scenes blend in perfectly and if the orchestral score doesn't stir you enough to make you feel that you're a superhero, we suggest you check your pulse.

You'll believe a man can fly, and this one can. Get behind the Man of Steel and make a play for this game, it's finely-honed and very handsome - just like Clark Kent himself.
