Summary

Enjoying leisure time in front of your PC can distort time and that's a fact. How many times have your parents, girlfriend, boyfriend or dog begged you to turn off the monitor and eat something? Or go for a walk? Le Mans 24 Hours is a game that could ruin your social life, as there really is an option to play the 24 hour race in real-time. The only racing titles that come close are the various Formula One games on the market, with their mere 60-70 lap races. It's just a drop in the ocean compared to Le Mans 24 Hours.

For those of us whose best friend is not a grey screen housed in plastic, there are 12 or 24 minute races in Championship Mode, and as you build up for the big one, a 12 hour race. Whichever option you choose, the race is run from sunrise to sunset, and as daylight fades and darkness descends, you can't help but be impressed. The cars also speed along at a fair old rate, as you would expect from such famous marques as Agusta, Viper and Kremer Racing. That' s another plus point for this Le Mans 24 Hours, it has an official license, so there are identifiable manufacturers here.

The action is fast and furious, the sound effects are fantastic, and there are literally fireworks during the race, but take a tip from us. Always remember to refuel, it's easily overlooked when you're new to the game. All you speed freaks out there, gagging for a slice of realism, this is an extremely worthwhile addition to Infogrames already bulging stable.
