Summary

Springtime, and what better way to enjoy the clement weather than with a spot of fishing? Don't fancy it? Well, stay home if you like, and do it virtually. For 2002, Take 2 releases its very own angling title, Big Bass Fishing on PlayStation.

Okay, Big Bass Fishing may not be original, but it certainly is fun. You can supposedly experience the thrill of luring a feisty large-mouthed fish when playing this game, and that’s true, but only to a small extent of course. But no matter how engrossing these games are or how easy it is to get carried away with the atmosphere of it all, deep down, they’re still video games. Players can choose from the usual selection of bait and lure, and put their new-found skills to the test in a number of North American lakes and rivers.

Three game modes – Free Fish, Tournament and Beat-the-Clock – means players can at least get more than the usual level of variety when it comes to fishing. In fact, although fishing is generally regarded as a slow-paced sport, some of Big Bass Fishing’s challenges can be quite intense.

So if you’re hungry for fish and you own a PlayStation, it’s time you sank your teeth into Big Bass Fishing.
