Summary

One of the most famous airliners, Eurowings has now received its own expansion pack for Flight Simulator 2002 and offers some of the finest planes and airports known to plane-spotting Europe.

Featuring accurate representations of infamous airports such as Stansted, Charles-de-Gaulles and the behemoth that is Schipol, Amsterdam, Commuter Airlines possesses some of the finest 3D modelling techniques seen in a game of this type.

But airport layouts and graphical bonuses are second best to the intuitive controls and plane dynamics on show. Perhaps the single most exceptional highlight is the realistic flight dynamic, which has even been tested and optimised by real-life pilots.

Many of the game's other features are commendable too, and do a good job of further immersing the player into a challenging simulator. Sound samples are recorded from real aircraft, and there are dozens of moving parts on display. There is also great emphasis on the cockpit view. Designed by one of the best development teams in the simulation field, these cockpits have fully functioning instruments with co-pilot panels, overhead panel and FMC's.

Aircraft included in this expansion comprise of the ATR-42, ATR-72, BAe 146 and Airbus A319. This may be just planespotter's lingo to most of you, but it's a big plus for Flight Sim aficionados. So, if you have even the slightest idea what any of the above means, give it a go.
