Combat Mission takes place at a crucial point in World War 2, from Normandy 1944 to Germany 1945 on the Western Front. From the beginning, players will be immersed in the atmosphere of one of the world’s greatest conflicts.
Players can take control of both ally and enemy, including the US Airborne and German Volksstrum. The main game takes place over approximately 50 missions that involve everything from stealth attacks to all out brawls. Players can choose to fight whichever way they want, it’s the gamers’ decision. Although, generally there is a distinct path to victory, which means if you’re stubborn in your way of combat, you might struggle with some stages.
As ever, Combat Mission makes good use of the PC range of graphics cards, and given the right PC setup, the game can look astonishing.
Over 120 different vehicles and infantry means that Combat Mission has enough variables to offer a challenging and unpredictable gaming experience. A brand new ‘Battle Generator’ creates missions at random and offers infinite hours of tactical gameplay to the player.
The end result is a truly accomplished RTS game that boasts a compelling story and carefully balanced gameplay.
