Summary

There have been many bizarre animated franchises to emerge from the States. From Rugrats to SpongeBob SquarePants, since Nickelodeon unleashed Rocket Power on the world, its popularity has umm, rocketed, and so it makes its way onto PC in the form of Extreme Arcade Games. Get in there!

While lacking in any serious plotline, Rocket Power gives players the opportunity to take part in a fast-paced enthralling game and assume the role of many favourites from the now classic TV series, including Otto, Twister, Reggie and Sam. Each player has their own field of expertise. Otto is able to participate in a hockey shoot-off, while Sam has the ability to hop around levels on a pogo stick. Each scenario has its own objective, and many of them involve fending off attacks from the evil Sheri and Lars.

To help make the game feel familiar to its young target audience, Rocket Power has been given the full cast of voice-overs from the original TV series, as well as authentic music. The game’s environments, while simple, also remain faithful to the Rocket Power franchise, boasting features such as exaggerated backdrops.

Essentially a series of mini-games, you might think that Rocket Power: Extreme Arcade Games has little to offer. You would be wrong. This game has some of the strongest gameplay seen in any PC title, and as long as a game is good fun to play, nothing else really matters. Remember that, and this game will provide unlimited enjoyment.
