Summary

Beach Volleyball for the PC. I bet you didn't see that coming. Incagold have done it again and brought yet another obscure sport to your monitor.

There aren’t too many Volleyball-based games on the market, so any release of this kind is guaranteed to attract curiosity. It's time to travel to some of the most sun-filled beaches in the world, although not literally, more's the pity.

Graphically, Beach Volleyball looks lovely. The environments go beyond the playing areas and help to create a sense of realism, complete with the crowds and a variety of male and female characters, it’s almost like looking at the real thing. Well, not quite.

There are several modes of play that include both single player and multi-player games. Gamers can even hook up to the net and challenge up to three other players across the globe. Watch out for those Californians, though, they’ll give you a run for your money. The gameplay is surprisingly simple, and is very easy to get to grips with. Hit a ball here, hit a ball there. It’s simple, but highly addictive.

Also, the players have been motion-captured, improving even further on the realism of the title, and helping to make the game more fluid.

Beach Volleyball is a very simple game at heart, but that’s often preferable, rather than being lumbered with a giant manual and hours of training. This game focuses purely on fun and playability, and that’s worth more than any technical achievement.
