Summary

Hanna Barbera's Scooby Doo is such an old dog! Scooby's cartoon series is one of the longest running animated series on television. Always guaranteed an audience somewhere, Scooby Doo and the Cyber Chase comes to the PlayStation.

The story is based upon the straight-to-video film that was released in late 2000, and it’s your typical Scooby-style story. A phantom virus has been terrorising the local university and Scooby and the Gang have been called upon to investigate. However, the virus soon spreads into what is called Cyberspace, a video game starring the Kids of Mystery. Can you stop the inevitable?

Scooby Doo and the Cyber Chase consists of a variety of linear levels, Crash Bandicoot-style, and a series of addictive mini-games. The main levels entail Scooby and Co running into the screen, jumping over deep chasms and avoiding nasty critters such as dragons and mummies. But any level wouldn’t be complete without a box of Scooby Snacks now, would it? For bonuses and other hidden extras, players can seek out Scooby’s favourite snacks. It all adds to the challenge and is well worth the effort. The mini-games help to give the players variety and encourage them to adopt new gameplay techniques such as puzzle and combat-oriented play.

Scooby Doo and the Cyber Chase, while lacking in originality, shows plenty of variety and a great deal of gameplay.
