Summary

Who Wants to be a Millionaire? has been revamped to make the game even more accessible for the whole family. The new junior version has just arrived on the PC, and the difficulty of the questions has been toned down. Now, kids can win a virtual million pounds, but they can’t virtually spend it until they are eighteen. It’s time to take to the hotseat for fifteen of the most nerve-wracking questions ever.

If you have been living in a cave for the last few years, you will probably have missed the global TV phenomenon that is Who Wants to be a Millionaire? The idea is simple: answer fifteen questions in a row correctly to win one million pounds. You have three lifelines to help you. These are ‘50-50’, where 2 of the 4 possible answers are taken away, ‘ask the audience’ to get their opinion, and ‘phone a friend’ in which someone whose voice you won’t recognise will offer you their thoughts.

The PC version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Junior bears all of the trademarks of the hit television show. The studio, the dramatic lighting and all of the music have been included to give the game authenticity. The icing on the cake comes in the form of the charismatic Chris Tarrant, who has provided the voice-over.

With over 1,000 questions, it won’t be anytime soon that you find a repeat question. Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Junior is a great game because it somehow manages to recreate the tension of the show without using real money. Who knows, you might even learn something.
