Summary

Although Disney may be responsible for some of the most engrossing animated features ever to grace the big screen, Warner Brothers’ Looney Tunes series can be just as comedic and sarcastic. Daffy Duck in particular is now getting his chance to prove his worth, with the release of Duck Dodgers on Nintendo 64.

Popular arch-rival, Marvin the Martian, is up to his old tricks again. Only this time he’s come up with the ultimate weapon to destroy Daffy Duck’s home planet. But his stupidity leaves him without fuel to power the machine, and you must seize this opportunity to collect the atoms before he uses them for his own selfish means.

The world of Duck Dodgers in the 24th-and-a-half-century has been created in full 3D, courtesy of Paradigm Entertainment. The game as a whole takes place across five planets, each with multiple levels that consist of vast, sprawling environments. At the end of each planet you must face one of the game’s bosses. A trial and error method is the best solution to discovering their weak points, but be careful. Of course, you’re not left to fend for yourself. Handy hints can be gained from your assistant, P-p-p-Porky Pig. Also, a variety of classic ACME weapons are available, including the infamous jetpack and raygun.

All in all, Duck Dodgers boasts quite a challenge in the later levels, and features a steady progression system that will keep many players interested. But this game is more suited to fans of the genre and Daffy’s sarky sense of humour. Enjoy.
