Summary

It’s Halloween once again in Springfield. Any fans of the Simpsons will be pleased to know there is a Game Boy version of the popular American cartoon based on the Halloween episodes. The Halloween episodes allow the writers the freedom to produce some truly amusing, bizarre and disturbing shows. In this game you must save the Simpsons’ souls from the Treehouse of Horror.

The gameplay is unique to each level, infact, it’s akin to seven original titles rolled into one. In the first level you take control of Bart and try to help him rescue Santa’s Little Helper from the attic of a haunted house. In true scary fashion the lights are out and the only way to turn them on is to find five fuses scattered around the basement. Then find the key and your dog before it’s too late.

The second level sees Maggie turned into a fly as the result of a matter transportation experiment gone wrong. To save Maggie you must fly around the level finding the three circuits that have popped out of the transporter and then turn on all five electric generators.

In the Third level you control Marge trying to make it back home fighting through a town full of crazed zombies. There are four bosses to dispose of so look out for power-ups that will increase your firepower.

In the later episodes, you will have to destroy a vampire version of Mr. Burns, rescue children from being eaten in the nightmare cafeteria, find your body parts and rescue Marge from the top of a skyscraper.

The Simpsons Night of the Living Treehouse of Horror is a diverse and playable game, there is lot to get through and you’ll enjoy every second. Top stuff.
