Summary

It goes without saying that the ten-year-old GameBoy has proved to be the most successful piece of video gaming hardware in history, at least in terms of its installed user base (100 million). So it comes as no surprise that Disney want a piece of the action, and with the release of many Disney classics on the 8-bit platform, their latest big screen outing, 102 Dalmatians, is set to make an appearance.

While 102 Dalmatians is obviously a 2-dimensional title, the basics of the gameplay are same as on any other platform. This is simply a platform game, but as you progress, you must find the keys to the cells that hold the rest of your giant family behind bars. Beware of Cruella’s henchmen, Horace, Jasper and LePelt, as they will be on your back every step of the way. There are 17 reasonably large levels in all, featuring a variety of collectibles, including tasty bones for those of you with unusual appetites. You are able to play as two of the famous Dalmatians, Oddball and Domino, although this makes little impact on the direction of the game.

102 Dalmatians is a simple platformer at heart, but presents players with quite a challenge. A great game for fans of the Disney classic and dog lovers everywhere.
