Toy Racer - Dreamcast

Toy Racer is an arcade style racing game that uses miniature motorised vehicles of all kinds, such as Formula 1 cars, bulldozers and open top jeeps. Brought to us by French developers No Cliché, Toy Racer is the unofficial follow-up to Toy Commander, a 'land of the giants' drama that unfolded in the kitchens and bathrooms of your everyday house. Toy Racer features all the motorised vehicles from Toy Commander as well as a number of exclusive new ones, and the aim of the game could not be simpler: win the race at any cost. So get on your marks, put your foot down and remember to pick up some weapons on your way around the track. It may be your only way to win.

Up to four controllers on your Dreamcast and you're in for some nifty multi-player action. Even the most placid soul can turn into a raging speed demon once the gauntlet is thrown down. Thanks to Toy Racer's online functions, you can challenge similarly hooked-up types from mainland France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Ireland, and of course the rest of the UK. Playing with friends or complete strangers definitely extends the lifespan of this game, as Toy Racer features only four different courses to conquer. Granted, these courses increase in difficulty, and only a supreme churl would complain about value for money when Toy Racer goes for less than a fiver.
