Summary

Thomas the Tank Engine was one of our favourite TV shows as children of the 80's, and although we have reached the status of adulthood (just) we were still quite pleased when a copy of Trouble on the Tracks appeared in the office. However, this is a game designed for children, so let me tell you a little about it.

Trouble on the Tracks features an entirely new storyline that didn't appear in the TV series. Here, on a rush to get to work quickly, James takes a bend in the tracks too fast and comes off the rails. Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to help the rest of the crew return him to his normal state. There are eight educational activities and games to take part in, all of which are quite unique. You will be tested on observation, mathematics, and even hearing skills as you progress to your goal. All the engines are featured in the game and appearances are made by Cranky the Crane and Harold the Helicopter.

Trouble on the Tracks is well presented for children, with big, bright text and rich animations. Additional extras give players the opportunity to print pictures and puzzles from a wide selection of images, so if you have kids, this would be a great choice.
