Summary

Have you ever fancied the excitement of racing in a pure Ford event? Feeling the adrenaline rush as you commit to a high speed-overtaking manoeuvre. Not knowing whether you’re going to make it, late breaking, out breaking, holding your line. Diving into the chicane, holding your breath as you as you pray your opponents didn’t get better acceleration out of the last corner as you tear down to the start finish straight. Victory could be yours.

Ford racing is an enjoyable racing simulation game. It has a nice feel when you first start playing and it continually grows on you. You start off by driving modest Ford Cars like the Ka around twisty little circuits, but you can unlock other cars and tracks by competing in the season.

There are a number of different events that you can enter to win money for yourself. Challenge mode is extremely difficult because all the cars are identical and you won’t be able to use your upgraded motor to breeze by. Prize races cost money to enter but offer great rewards to the winner. Winning money is a big part of this game because you can spend your cash on car upgrades and modifications. Buying a bigger engine, new racing tyres and weight reductions make for a big difference to the speed and handling of your car.

Initially, Ford Racing starts off slow, but with repeated playing and new cars and tracks it develops into an excellent driving game. The two-player mode comes highly recommended and you can set up a slower car boost to even the races out. Ford Racing is in the top ten percent of PlayStation racing games.
